Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology


Purpose and Scope
16th Annual Conference on Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research in Hospitality and Tourism has been successfully held on 6-8 January, 2011. In order to provide a venue for research papers that study or uses communication and information technologies, a special issue has been developed. All researchers are invited to submit to this Special Issue of JHTT.
Potential topics may include but not limited to:
·          The use of information technology in hospitality and tourism
·          E-Consumer behavior
·          E-Tourism
·          Customer relationship management
·          Electronic distribution and logistics management
·          Electronic marketing strategies: management and evaluation
·          Electronic word-of-mouth and user generated content management
·          Information search and retrieval
·          Legal and ethical aspects of information technology
·          Mobile platforms and applications
·          Online communities
·          Recommendation systems
·          Attitudes and predictions about social media by travel marketers
·          Attitudes and predictions about social media by travel consumers
·          The role of social media and social networks in sales and marketing
·          E-Social networking sites
·          Consumer Generated Media
·          Consumer Review Websites
·          Online Blogs
·          Web 2.0
·          Social dynamics of communication on the Internet
·          Virtual webspaces (i.e. Second Life)
·          Internet or m-commerce business models promoting eWOM (i.e. RSS)
·          Legal implication of consumer generated media content for hospitality organizations
·          Social media metrics
·          Technology adoption, novel business models, and integration within hospitality and tourism value chains
·          Technology education, training, and certification
Articles may be conceptual or empirical, and may employ traditional or innovative research methods that address the issues specific to technology in the hospitality and tourism context. Submissions will be refereed on a double blind review basis and will be judged based on the quality of contribution towards the literature as well as their application value for industry professionals.
Guidelines for Submission
To submit your paper online you must create an author account at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jhtt then follow the on-screen guidance which takes you through the submission process.

Registering on ScholarOne Manuscripts:
·          To register please follow the instructions below:
·          Log on to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jhtt
·          Click on the create account link at the top right of the screen.
·          Follow the on-screen instructions, filling in the requested details before proceeding
·          Your username will be your email address and you have to input a password of at least 8 characters in length and containing two or more numbers
·          Click 'Finish' and your account has been created

Submitting an article on ScholarOne Manuscripts
·          Once Registered go to http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jhtt with your username and password. This will take you through to the Welcome page.
·          (To consult the Author Guidelines for this journal, click on the Home Page link in the Resources column).
·          Click on the Author Centre button.
·          Click on the ‘submit a new manuscript’ link which will take you through to the Manuscript Submission page.
·          Make sure you submit your paper to the ‘iHITA Conference 2011’ special issue when you are asked to make a journal issue selection.
·          Complete all fields and browse to upload your article. You must upload a separate title page (with all author details) and your article file (with NO author details).
·          When all required sections are completed, preview your .pdf proof.
·          Submit your manuscript.

When your paper is successfully submitted you will receive an email indicating that your paper has been received together with its unique identity number. This means that the Editors, Publisher, and Reviewers will be able to process your paper in addition to you being able to track your paper at each stage of the publishing process. If you do not receive an e-mail please first check that you have entered your e-mail address correctly. If that is correct and your paper is not in 'unsubmitted manuscripts' please e-mail manuscriptcentral@emeraldinsight.com Please quote the journal you are submitting to and your article title.
